Thérèse Schreinemachers-Wieske is the creative brains behind the hottest new trend to hit the Paris fashion world: "The Original DouwDouw" shower cap.

Born on July 22, 1969 on the Caribbean island of Curaçao. The designer
has breathed new life into an item that is usually thought of as passé and unchic. With her unique touch that is always feminine and meticulous, she creates dashing collections of water-repellent shower caps.


The concept for The Original DouwDouw shower cap was developped by the need for a functioning shower cap with fashion and fun emanating. Inspiration came from a shower cap in the 1970's, that used to belong to Thérèse her grandmother. Though these were purely utilitarian in nature, they still possessed a certain cheerful quality. 

The name she chose for them is one close to her heart: DouwDouw, was the nickname she was given as a young girl due to her adventurous nature.

A graduate of the Academy of Fashion in The Hague, Thérèse’s love for fashion, and its intricate details, can be appreciated upon closer inspection. The shower cap is a practical and functional piece of fashion, meticulously finished with the finest satins and ribbons and whimsical and dainty accents, making each one a unique creation.

The Original Douw Douw shower cap is a labour of love. It is the culmination of years of experiences and inspirations. Thérèse has breathed new life into a mundane and forgotten object, and made it beautiful and trendy!
